The Magic House is one of the most attended children's museums, but it is actually one of the smallest. While The Magic House has accomplished a lot with a little, it has outgrown its current facility.

The Answer Was Right Next Door
In 2004, The Magic House was approached by the condominium owners next door about purchasing their property. After considerable negotiations, the Board of Directors secured the condominium complex site adjacent to the museum on the corner of Kirkwood Road (Lindbergh) and Woodbine Avenue.

The Magic House now truly has an opportunity for optimal future growth on prime property right next door to its present location.

An innovative 32,000-square-foot addition will connect to the original Victorian home and include improvements in all aspects of the museum experience with:

More Beauty, with a light-filled Welcome Center reminiscent of a Victorian-era conservatory, designed to warmly greet visitors of all ages.

More Wonder, with new galleries to house both traveling and permanent exhibits that will spark curiosity in literacy, science, health, history and more.

More Learning, highlighting an Education Center that will accommodate learners of all ages and interests, as well as the Star-Spangled Center, to help students grow into proud and informed citizens.

More Joy, with an imaginative and interactive Play Garden, inviting and enabling children of all ages and abilities to explore, discover and play outdoors.

More Comfort, including additional free parking, large restrooms and a café to make the entire museum experience more pleasant.

More Magic, with a Rooftop Garden and a grand spiral staircase that beckons and leads to a Fairy Tale Tower– the perfect spot for imagination to take flight!
