The Pigeon Comes to St Louis!

May 25 – September 8, 2019

The Pigeon Comes to St. Louis: A Mo Willems Exhibit is inspired by the art and characters of the beloved children’s book author and illustrator, Mo Willems. Many familiar characters will be featured, including best friend duo Elephant and Piggie, faithful companion Knuffle Bunny, and The Pigeon, the wily city bird best known for his antics in Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus! Activities will give children the opportunity to make art that is inspired by Mo Willems and to learn about the rich social and emotional lives of the author’s characters. The exhibit will also feature prints of illustrations, including works in progress, by Mo Willems.

The Pigeon Comes to St Louis: A Mo Willems Exhibit is co-organized by Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh and the Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art and is free with Museum admission.

The Magic House @ MADE

Opening Summer 2019

In celebration of its 40th anniversary, this summer The Magic House will open its first permanent satellite location on Delmar Boulevard in the City of St. Louis.

Created in partnership with the Cortex Innovation Community and MADE STL, the 7,000 square foot interactive space will support the Museum’s mission to engage all children with hands-on learning experiences that spark imagination, pique curiosity, enhance creativity and develop problem-solving skills. Housed on the second floor of MADE STL, The Magic House @ MADE will be divided into four areas: a Makers Workshop, Artists Studio, Designers Lab, and an Entrepreneurs Market Place. In addition, a large classroom will provide programming space for field trips, after-school workshops, weekend birthday parties and summer camps.
