Join The Magic House for a brand-new interactive learning experience – Virtual Field Trips!  With the help of technology, preschool to Grade 5 students will enjoy a field trip to The Magic House without ever leaving their classroom or home. Each session features 30 minutes of live, interactive exploration of a topic and exhibit, specifically designed to align with national and state academic standards. Don’t worry – no permission slips required! Reservation times listed are Central Time Zone.

In advance of each virtual field trip, teachers will receive supporting documents to prepare for the fun-filled experience.

Thanks to the generous support of The Boeing Company, EdHubSTL, Emerson, Kent Family Foundation and Sugar Creek Donor Advised Fund, qualifying school groups are invited to participate in our virtual field trip programs free of charge.

MADE for Kids Design Challenge

This virtual field trip will come to your “classroom” live from The Magic House’s satellite location in the City of St. Louis, MADE for Kids. Each field trip begins with an introduction to the design thinking process, so important to STEM learning today. Then the fun begins as students are given a design challenge to individually complete at their own workspaces using just paper, glue and scissors. The program features a facilitated grade-level specific challenge designed to support Missouri grade-level expectations.

Preschool Three Little Pigs: Design Challenge

Featuring the classic story The Three Little Pigs, preschoolers are invited to join us for an interactive virtual field trip experience where they won’t huff or puff, but they might just blow us away with their ideas! In this new field trip experience, preschoolers will create unique solutions to a hands-on design challenge using simple supplies.

Scientist Says

Scientist Says, “Schedule your class for a virtual field trip with The Magic House!” Transport your students to The Magic House’s Science Lab with an all-new interactive digital learning experience. Designed to have students think like scientists, this new program features fun science experiments, playful games and interactive engagement designed to align with grade-level expectations and class curriculum. This presentation-style program is designed to spark interest in science and inspire students to learn more.

Your Vote Counts

Cast your vote to support your social studies curriculum with a virtual visit to the Star-Spangled Center. “Your Vote Counts” offers students the opportunity to explore the voting process as they become legislators voting on real issues that are important to kids, such as should school go year round or should seatbelts be required on school buses? Students debate issues and then vote with results tabulated and shared in real time.

Passport to Kenya

Book your class trip to Kenya!  The Magic House is taking students across the world, without ever leaving their classroom or home, as they participate in a tour of Kenya’s Kids in our World Traveler Gallery. Celebrate the vibrant Kenyan culture filled with longtime traditions and unique technology as students learn some Swahili greetings, explore a Kenyan town complete with a school, home, market and matatu – a colorful mini-bus, and then “fly” to a wildlife reserve to learn about lions, giraffes, monkeys, elephants and other Kenyan animals! The tour ends with an interactive desktop activity that will be a wonderful “souvenir” of the trip!
