Virtual Field Trips

Join The Magic House for an interactive virtual learning experience – No permission slips required! 

With the help of technology, preschool to Grade 5 students can enjoy a field trip to The Magic House from their school classroom.

Each Field Trip session features 30 minutes of live, interactive exploration of a topic and exhibit, specifically designed to align with national and state academic standards. 

Prior to your virtual field trip, teachers will receive supporting documents to prepare for the fun-filled experience.

Virtual Field Trips are only offered on select Mondays and Fridays. Reservation times listed are Central Time Zone.

All St. Louis area schools are eligible for a free virtual field trip!  To receive this special rate, please select ‘St. Louis Area School’ when making your online reservations. 

St. Louis Area Schools include: St. Louis City, St. Louis County, Franklin County, Jefferson County and St. Charles County

Access for All: Free 
Your school may be eligible for a free virtual field trip! Through our Access for All imitative funded by generous donors and the Sugar Creek Donor Advised Fund, The Magic House is able to provide free learning experiences to Missouri and Illinois Title 1 schools, as well as Missouri and Illinois schools with 50 percent or more students that qualify for free and reduced lunch. If your organization qualifies, please select ‘Scholarship Funded’ when making your online reservations.

Three Little Pigs Design Challenge

Grade: Preschool – Kindergarten

Featuring the classic story The Three Little Pigs, preschoolers are invited to join us for an interactive virtual field trip experience where they won’t huff or puff, but they might just blow us away with their ideas! In this new field trip experience, preschoolers will create unique solutions to a hands-on design thinking challenge using simple supplies.

 

Shape Cityscapes

Preschool – Kindergarten

Featuring the story City Shapes by Diana Murray, preschoolers are invited to join us for an interactive virtual field trip experience where they will discover the shapes that build the world around them. In this new field trip experience preschoolers will cut geometric shapes, paste and design their own vibrant cityscape using simple supplies.

STEM Design Challenge

Grade: Kindergarten – Grade 5

Each field trip begins with an introduction to the design thinking process, so important to STEM learning today. Then the fun begins as students are given a design challenge to individually complete at their own workspaces using just paper, glue, chalk, markers and scissors. The program features a facilitated grade-level specific challenge designed to support Missouri grade-level expectations.

Invite your students to explore the voting process! This unique virtual offering gives students the opportunity to explore the voting process as they become legislators voting on real issues that are important to kids, such as should school go year round or should seatbelts be required on school buses.
