Why The Magic House’s Not-So-Haunted House is the Halloween Event Your Family Will Love

Let’s be honest: Halloween with kids can be a little chaotic. One minute your child is all in on being a firefighter, the next they’re a ghost… or a unicorn… or both. And don’t even get us started on the weather. That’s why we created the Not-So-Haunted House, a festive, indoor Halloween celebration at The Magic House that’s all treats, no tricks, and just the right amount of spooky. It’s the kind of event that makes Halloween easy, fun, and full of memory-making moments.
Trick-or-Treating, The Magic House Way
Thanks to our friends at Schnucks Markets, every child receives a free reusable trick-or-treat bag and autograph book when they arrive. Then it’s off on a Museum-wide scavenger hunt to find treat stations filled with goodies.
And because it’s all indoors, you don’t have to worry about rain, wind, or costume layering strategies. Just come dressed up and ready to explore!
Storybook Characters
Throughout the Museum, beloved storybook characters will be ready to greet kids, sign autographs, and pose for photos.
Science of Slime and Halloween Story Time
And for kids who love messy fun (and parents who love sneaky learning), head to the Science Lab at 1 p.m. for our Science of Slime experience. Plus, daily at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., enjoy a Halloween-themed story time!
The Not-So-Haunted House runs during our regular daytime hours, so no need for kiddos to stay up late:

- October 10–12
- October 17–19
- October 24–26
