Argentina's Niños
About the Exhibit
Argentina’s Niños inspires visitors to compare the similarities and differences between their lives and those of children in the second largest country in South America. Families will feel like they have traveled to Argentina as they explore immersive environments, learning about the traditions and lifestyles of Argentine children.
Exhibit Areas
Visitors will be introduced to Argentine culture as they explore:
Argentine School: Practice writing Spanish words and learn about the Casa Rosada (Pink House), the office of Argentina’s president similar to the United States’ White House.
Futbol: Play futbol (soccer) with your friends, dress in an Argentine national team kit (uniform) and take a penalty shot like Argentina’s star player Lionel Messi.
Market: Shop for produce, select a sweet treat from the bakery or visit a butcher to gather ingredients to grill a family meal.
Andes Mountains: Explore the countryside as you climb the Andes Mountains and learn about Argentine wildlife like the condor.
La Boca Art District: Take your picture as a Tango dancer and paint on a digital “easel” in La Boca, the colorful art district of Argentina’s capital city of Buenos Aires.
Home: Prepare mate, roll dough for empanadas and have an asado (barbeque) with your family in a traditional home. Dress like a gaucho (cowboy) and try on other traditional Argentine clothing.
