Hero Quest
Now Open!
Hero Quest brings to life historical heroes from New York Times best-selling author Brad Meltzer and illustrator Christopher Eliopoulos’ “Ordinary People Change the World” book series in life-size books throughout The Magic House! Children will go on a scavenger hunt to find diverse historical heroes, stepping into the story to learn powerful character traits and discover the hero within themselves. Through hands-on activities, children will explore the traits that made real-life heroes extraordinary and learn how they themselves can make a difference in the world.
The “Ordinary People Change the World” series was created to provide children with positive role models they can emulate. The Magic House is partnering with CharacterPlus to help create the character education content for the project.
This project is part of the Fostering Character Through Children’s Museums, a Lilly Endowment initiative designed to help children’s museums develop or expand programs that encourage the development of positive character traits.
The Magic House is one of 15 children’s museums around the nation being funded through the initiative.
Hero Quest opens at The Magic House on September 20, the same day as Xavier Riddle and the Secret Museum: The Exhibit.
The Hero Quest traveling exhibit will feature a variety of small kiosks that will feature diverse historical characters with unique hands-on environments and engaging interactives to facilitate conversations and foster positive character development.
