The Power of Play
Preschool – Grade 2
Discover how purposeful play can transform your classroom into a dynamic space for learning, creativity, and growth. The Power of Play is a hands-on professional development opportunity designed specifically for elementary educators who want to deepen their understanding of play-based learning and its critical role in child development. Led by experienced museum educators, this interactive session will explore the cognitive, social-emotional, and physical benefits of play, and how it supports academic achievement, problem-solving, collaboration, and resilience. Participants will engage in playful activities, reflect on their teaching practices, and leave with practical strategies to incorporate more meaningful play into their daily routines—regardless of grade level or curriculum constraints. Join us to reimagine play not as a break from learning, but as a powerful pathway to it.
