Celebrate Summerween at The Magic House!
ST LOUIS (July 2025) – Tired of the heat and dreaming of all things fall? The Magic House, St. Louis Children’s Museum has the perfect solution – Summerween!
Summerween is a new, unofficial holiday that combines the spirit of Halloween with the summer season. It’s a time for Halloween enthusiasts to enjoy spooky celebrations, decorations, and treats a second time of year, but with carved watermelons and pineapples and other summer treats in place of pumpkins and candy corn.
While Summerween is typically celebrated on July 31, right between summer and fall, The Magic House will be blending the best of both seasons from July 28 through August 1 for five full days of spooky, silly, sunny fun.
Summerween decorations, like beach-attired skeletons and carved watermelon and pineapple faces, along with other photo opportunities will be featured throughout the Museum. Each child will receive a colorful lei.
Families are invited to come dressed in their favorite Halloween costumes or beach attire to trick or treat throughout The Magic House. Kids will have the opportunity to experience Summerween slime in the Science Lab and listen to spooky stories on stage in Story Time Theater. Special Summerween treats and a signature Summerween dirty soda will be on the menu at the Picnic Basket Café.
Summerween will be held during public hours and is included with Museum admission and free for members.
