The Magic House Receives $25,000 Grant from Bayer Fund to Grow 2025 Plant the Seed Summer Field Trip Program

ST LOUIS (January 15, 2025) – The Magic House, St. Louis Children’s Museum, is excited to announce it has received a $25,000 grant from Bayer Fund, a philanthropic arm of Bayer in the U.S., to expand its Plant the Seed Summer Field Trip Program in 2025. This hands-on program will introduce over 1,500 students to nutrition, the plant cycle, and vegetable gardening—all while getting their hands dirty in The Magic House’s Sunshine Classroom, made possible by this Bayer Fund grant.

The program is already a hit with local schools and youth organizations, including City Garden Montessori, Boys & Girls Clubs of St. Louis, and the Jackie Joyner-Kersee Academy. With this generous grant, The Magic House will be able to reach even more students, helping them grow their knowledge about food, health, and nutrition.

“Thanks to Bayer Fund, we can teach thousands of students how to plant, care for, and enjoy the food they grow.” said Beth Fitzgerald, President and CEO of The Magic House. “By helping kids get excited about healthy eating and gardening, this program is planting the seeds for healthier futures.”

In Bayer Fund and The Magic House’s shared commitment to building healthier, stronger communities, this grant will allow The Magic House to continue making a lasting impact on local youth, teaching them valuable lessons that can improve their health and well-being for years to come.
