ST LOUIS (April 23, 2025) – ¡Bienvenidos! Get ready to take a colorful and exciting journey south of the border as ¡Viva México! makes its debut on Mexico’s Día del Niño (National Children’s Day), Wednesday, April 30 at The Magic House. - Learn and Play: Visit a school to learn about the history of Mexico and create a Mexican flag. Learn some new Spanish words, then head to the schoolyard to play fútbol and other playground games.
- Dance to Mariachi: Dress up in traditional clothing and dance to lively mariachi music while playing musical instruments like maracas and guiros.
- Ride the Trajinera: Hop aboard a traditional trajinera boat and learn about the axolotl, a beloved and endangered animal in Mexico.

¡Viva México! is the latest in a series of cultural exhibits developed by The Magic House and will join The Magic House’s nationally traveling cultural exhibit series currently featuring Children’s China, Kenya’s Kids and Argentina’s Niños, Namaste India and Ciao Bambini!. The cultural series is designed to help children and families build an interest and celebrate diverse cultures from around the world.
To ensure an authentic and culturally accurate experience, The Magic House formed the ¡Viva México! advisory committee, consisting of professionals from the St. Louis area, all of whom have deep-rooted connections to Mexico. This committee played a key role in the exhibit development process, working for over 12 months with the Museum’s Exhibit Design Team. The entire exhibit will be presented in dual language format.
