Youth Volunteers

Beginning at age 13, the youth volunteer program enables young people to gain valuable skills, make new friends, and contribute to the community. The Magic House seeks applicants who are outgoing, flexible, patient, and love working with children. New volunteers start as Museum Assistants and rotate through a wide variety of exhibit areas, working with visitors. Youth volunteers are asked to commit to serve at least 30 hours within a year. The process begins with submitting an application, followed by a personal interview and an orientation session if accepted.

Adult Volunteers

The adult volunteer program invites grownups to support a variety of Museum operations and programs by working in the Art Studio, on educational field trips, at special events, behind the scenes, in the gardens and grounds, or assisting with educational outreach. Adult volunteers are asked to commit to serve at least 30 hours within a year. The process begins by submitting an application, followed by a personal interview, a criminal background check, and if accepted, an orientation session.

Volunteer Groups

The Magic House invites school, church, and corporate groups to share their time and talents. Families may also volunteer together with children ages eight and older, with a ratio of no more than two children under 13 per adult.
