Story Time Magic Field Trip
Grade: Preschool – Grade 1
Cost: $7.50 per student and chaperone. Teachers are free.
Capacity: Maximum 50 students. One adult chaperone is required for every five children.
Students will explore our Story Time Magic exhibit in a 60-minute field trip program. This exhibit is designed to support the Missouri Early Learning Standards, with a focus on language, literacy, and expressive arts.
In Backstage Magic, students will explore the dramatic arts, learning about the design and backstage process of creating a live performance. They will get to create their own prop or costume piece and practice creating a unique character for the stage!
In Once Upon a Time, children will learn about the parts of a story and get to explore “setting” and “characters” in Winnie the Pooh’s treehouse, Peter Rabbit’s Garden, the homes of the Three Little Pigs, the bedroom from Goodnight Moon, and they can present their own puppet shows in Old McDonald’s Farm.
Students will then put their literary and dramatic skills together in an interactive Story Time reading onstage in the Story Time Theater.
