Benjamin Franklin

Benjamin Franklin loved to experiment and make things. He loved to read books and write. He wrote rules he wanted to live by in his very own “Plan for Future Conduct.” Over time, he made new lists of virtues he hoped to master and kept trying to improve himself. He started a club to discuss important topics and championed freedom of speech and the press in order to hear a variety of opinions. He conducted numerous experiments that helped us better understand the world around us. Benjamin Franklin also was a Founding Father of the United States of American and used his ideas to help establish American Independence and its Constitution. Ben Franklin lived out his desire to improve himself and improve the world.

Courage Helps Us Handle Life’s Obstacles

  • Discuss with your child values that are important to your family. Ask your child about ways the family can demonstrate or celebrate those values together.
