Volunteer Opportunities

The youth volunteer program enables young people  to gain valuable skills, make new friends and contribute to the community. The Magic House seeks applicants who are outgoing, flexible, patient and love working with children. New volunteers start as Museum Assistants and rotate through a wide variety of exhibit areas, working with visitors. Youth volunteers are asked to make a commitment to serve at least 30 hours within a year. The process begins by submitting an application, followed by a personal interview and if accepted, an orientation session.

The adult volunteer program invites grownups to support a variety of Museum operations and programs by working in the Art Studio, on educational field trips, at special events, behind the scenes, in the gardens and grounds or assisting with educational outreach. Adult volunteers are asked to make a commitment to serve at least 30 hours within a year. The process begins by submitting an application, followed by a personal interview, a criminal background check and if accepted, an orientation session.

The Magic House invites school, church and corporate groups to share their time and talents. Families may also volunteer together with children ages eight and older, with a ratio of no more than two children under 13 per adult.
