Get Ready to Play! Join Us for Play Day in the Park, a FREE Family Event in Forest Park!
ST LOUIS (2024) – Let’s play! To kick off this summer, The Magic House and Forest Park Forever along with Spire, St. Louis Public Library and St. Louis County Library, invite you to participate in Play Day in the Park, a FREE family-focused community event to be held in Forest Park. This giant community-wide play date will take place on Saturday, June 1 from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Visitors Center Parking Lot in Forest Park.
Studies have shown that there is a growing concern that a key component of child development is disappearing from children’s lives: Play. Play helps children develop social skills, critical thinking, creativity and problem-solving skills. Play Day in the Park hopes to combat this growing trend by encouraging families to take a break from screentime and participate in good, old-fashioned play!
Making play accessible to all kids, Play Day in the Park will allow families to explore a variety of engaging activities, from bubble play and outdoor art to parachute games, sports, and STEM Lab explorations! Plus, you won’t want to miss out on signing up for STL Summer Adventure, a community summer learning program powered by St. Louis County Library and St. Louis Public Library. By inspiring children to discover the world through play, they are mastering skills that will build their confidence and creativity so they will continue to learn throughout their lives.
Coming together to champion the importance of play and build a more playful community, over 25 local St. Louis organizations will be onsite providing hands-on activities for children.
Play Day in the Park is a collaborative event promoting and supporting the power of play among children. The event is sponsored by Spire and is free for all families to attend.
