45 Years of Magic Birthday Celebration
45th Birthday Celebration
45th Birthday Fund
This year for our birthday, The Magic House is asking for donations to the 45th Birthday Fund to support the oldest part of the Museum to help it look new again! Over 17 million visitors have explored the original Victorian Home and it is in need of new carpeting, wall coverings, windows, paint, elevators and updated exhibit experiences. Make our birthday wish come true with a gift today!
All 45th Birthday donors will be entered into a raffle to win a private party at the Museum catered by The Magic House chef!
Special 45th Birthday Naming Opportunities are available. For questions, please email Vicki Peckron at vicki@magichouse.org.
Happy Birthday Happy Hour
On October 16, we are hosting a Happy Birthday Happy Hour from 5:30-7:30 p.m. to reminisce and mingle with supporters and friends, share our plans and needs, and celebrate 45 years of magic.
Please RSVP by emailing Vicki Peckron at vicki@magichouse.org.
Our History
On October 16, 1979,
The Magic House opened as one of the nationโs first children’s museums
in a whimsical Victorian house filled with innovative hands-on exhibits
designed to pique curiosity, spark imagination and make learning fun โ
including our iconic Electrostatic Generator, Shadow Walls and three-story Super Slide
that still delight visitors today.
Over the past 45 years,
The Magic House has grown from a local museum to an award-winning national landmark welcoming over 500,000 visitors each year. Through a series of expansions, the St. Louis community has seen the Museum grow from 5,500 to 55,000 square feet โ 10 times the original size.
Like the children and families we serve,
The Magic House has continued to evolve to meet the growing needs of our community, but what has remained the same for 45 years is our mission to engage all children in hands-on learning in a place of beauty, wonder, joy and magic.
Thank you for being part of our past, present and future!
