The Magic House adheres to all CDC, local and state guidelines including limiting attendance to a portion of our capacity to allow for social distancing and requiring all staff as well as visitors ages 5+ to wear masks. Hand sanitizer and wipe stations are placed throughout the Museum and staff members are cleaning continuously throughout all public hours.
While St. Louis County is currently allowing businesses to operate at up to 50% capacity, The Magic House will continue to feature further limits on capacity during public hours of operation. The Magic House is also proud to host a variety of experiences that feature greatly reduced capacity, including Private Playtime for your small group to explore an area of The Magic House all to themselves and special events with an extremely limited number of attendees.
An inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public place where people are present. COVID-19 is a very contagious disease that can lead to sever illness and death. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, senior citizens and visitors with underlying medical conditions are especially vulnerable.
The Magic House took an extra step to invest in our visitors’ safety by installing ionization air purification systems on each HVAC unit in the museum. The system has been proven to kill pathogens (bacteria, viruses, mold spores) and helps control allergens. Testing results demonstrated a 99.4% reduction rate on COVID-19 surface strain within 30 minutes. The positive and negative ions have microbicidal effects on pathogens, ultimately reducing the infectivity of the virus.
